Sedation dentistry is ideal when you need a complicated procedure done, but you aren’t too comfortable with the process — allowing for a more relaxed experience. We understand that past experiences may be an issue when it comes to dental procedures.
Our professional team will help you understand the difference between sleep dentistry and sedation dentistry, and determine which pathway is the right option for you.
The starting point is your first initial consultation. A full examination with all the relevant X-rays and imaging is taken to get a clear understanding of what needs to be done. We will sit down and listen to all your concerns, gain an understanding of your goals for treatment, and go through costs — working around your budget with payment plan options if needed. Together, we will decide how we can overcome your dental fear and anxiety.
While we don’t offer sleep dentistry in-house, we believe many individuals may not require it if they find the environment calming and relaxed. We do provide alternative options using medications, where patients remain awake but are mildly sedated. If you still need it, we can refer you to trusted professionals outside our business who provide sleep dentistry services — and there are also services that come to the practice on site to sedate our patients.
Most people find that after the initial consultation, the proposed treatment solutions are not what they had initially thought — and their experience at the dentist changes for the better.
